Some proposals in the plan include:

  • Limiting to 470 the total number of trekkers allowed per season on the half-day trip, from the staging area next to the Hudson-Atlantic City Road to Rocky Ridge and back.
  • Limiting to 4,105 the total number of trekkers allowed per season on the single day trip, from the staging area to Rock Creek Hollow.
  • Limiting to 2,805 the total number of trekkers allowed per season on the two day, 22 mile trip, from the 6th Crossing near Sweetwater Station to Rock Creek Hollow.
  • Capping the number of people per trek group at 400.
  • Allowing trek groups to range in size from 10 to 400.
  • Limiting the number of people per handcart to 10. Requiring intensive training for trek leaders.
